My name is Gay Jones, and I have been librarian at Lubbock-Cooper South Elementary School since 1990. I have been married to my husband Richard for twenty-five+ years, and we have hairy children (cats and dogs). I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Eastern New Mexico University and a Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology with an emphasis in Learning Resources from Texas Tech University. I love to read! My favorite children’s authors are Jan Brett, Patricia Polacco, Eve Bunting, and Cynthia Rylant, just to name a few. My favorite adult authors are Tony Hillerman, Margaret Coel, Mary Higgins Clark, and LaVyrle Spencer. I am very interested in the Battle of the Little Bighorn, and I love to read books about Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer and the battle. Besides reading and taking care of my cats and dogs, I enjoy decorating, collecting versions of The Night before Christmas and other old Christmas books, and traveling to national parks. I *LOVE* hockey, and I am a rabid Dallas Stars fan! I love children and books, and I feel I have the best job in the world! |
