Covenant Health System Community Outreach Dental Program was at Cooper South on November 16th. The purpose of the program was to provide dental sealants to those qualifying students. Second and third grade students who qualifed participated in this sealant clinic. A dental sealant is a plastic coating, which is painted over the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. This procedure helps prevent the teeth from decaying. We want to say a special thank you to Dr. Drennan and the Covenant Community Outreach Dental Program staff for their participation and help in caring for our South kids!
Mass screening was held on October 20th. This included vision, hearing, dental, height and weight. Contact Nurse Davis if you have any questions or concerns. If your child required a referral for any reason, the referral will be sent home with your child over the next 3 weeks. Please remember: You must be fever free 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications before returning to school OR with a doctor's note stating you are not contagious. |
| What You Can Do to Stay Healthy: |
|
♦ There are everyday actions people can take to stay healthy.
♦ Cough into your sleeve instead of into your hands or cover our nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. ♦ Wash your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective. ♦ Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way. ♦ Try to avoid close contact with sick people. ♦ Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people. ♦ If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them. ♦ www.cdc.gov/swineflu/ |
